With another season of rowing stretched out before us we are hoping to pick up from the success of 2009, more details of which can be found in our annual review that can be downloaded from the website. The strength of the club continues to grow, with the competition between racing crews pushing teams to train that little bit harder. The development of a consistent vets crew is something that has been long overdue, and we can be sure that they will at events throughout the summer enjoying this fantastic sport as much as everyone else.

The club is still hoping to hold a regatta in October at Portishead, and efforts continue behind the scenes to try and make this a reality. However, it’s not all about racing, with the social nights thriving during the week, and later in the

year we will hosting a RNLI corporate day out in Bristol’s floating harbour.

Possible the biggest news for the club for this season is the attraction of a sponsor to club in the form of St.Austell Brewery. The club is excited to have formed a relationship with a company that has supported gig racing for some time, and we hope that this is the beginning of a long union with the St.Austell Brewery.

See you on the water!
